Nutrition specialists remind us: the state of the cardiovascular system depends on many factors, among which diet plays an important role.

However, the risk of thrombosis is associated not only with diet but also with age, heredity, physical activity levels, the presence of chronic diseases, and harmful habits.

What Is the Danger of Thrombosis

Thrombosis is the formation of blood clots within blood vessels, which can obstruct normal blood flow. In some cases, a clot can lead to severe complications, including heart attack, stroke, or pulmonary embolism.

To maintain vascular health, doctors recommend following a balanced diet, monitoring cholesterol levels, and engaging in regular physical activity.

Which Products Should Be Limited

Liver

Beef and pork liver contain a high amount of cholesterol, as well as vitamin K, which is involved in blood clotting processes. However, for most healthy individuals, moderate consumption of liver is not considered a risk factor for thrombosis. Caution should be exercised by those taking medications that affect blood clotting.

Margarine

Some types of margarine may contain trans fats, which can raise levels of "bad" cholesterol and increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. However, many modern manufacturers have significantly reduced the trans fat content in their products.

Smoked Sausages

Smoked and processed meat products typically contain high amounts of salt, saturated fats, and various food additives. Their excessive consumption is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders.

What to Include in the Diet

To support vascular health, specialists recommend consuming more vegetables, fruits, berries, whole grains, fish, legumes, and vegetable oils. Foods rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids are also beneficial.

Meat products should preferably be chosen from lean varieties and consumed in moderation.

No single product causes thrombosis by itself. The overall nature of the diet, lifestyle, and control of risk factors are much more important. A balanced diet, sufficient physical activity, and regular preventive check-ups help significantly reduce the likelihood of cardiovascular complications.
