Shocking Discovery: Biologist Identifies Link Between Herbicide and Colon Cancer in Youth

Computational biologist Jose Seoane stated in an interview with Business Insider that a common chemical weed killer may be an unexpected factor increasing the risk of colon cancer among young people.

In his research, computational biologist Jose Seoane discovered a striking explanation for the increase in cancer cases among individuals under 45 years old.

Together with his fellow biologists, he meticulously studied malignant cells of colon cancer, identifying DNA fingerprints that indicated specific risk factors. As expected, most of the identified cases were linked to smoking, fiber deficiency, and obesity.

However, among the usual factors, Seoane encountered a completely unexpected finding: the herbicide picloram.

Seoane himself admitted that his initial reaction to the discovery of this substance was highly skeptical. "When we saw picloram, we thought, 'This must be a mistake,'" he shared.

Nevertheless, subsequent thorough observations convincingly demonstrated that prolonged exposure to this chemical compound can indeed act as one of the significant risk factors.
