Onion Peel: The Savior of Crops and Protector Against Pests

Onion peel is beneficial in plant care. It is used for disease prevention, pest control, and increasing yields.

To preventively disinfect houseplants, a decoction is prepared: a handful of peels is poured with 1.5 liters of boiling water, infused for two hours, strained, and cooled. The plants and the top layer of soil are sprayed with this decoction once a month. The infusion is not stored, and a fresh batch is prepared each time.

In spring, when planting seedlings in the ground, onion peels are added directly to the soil. This helps protect plants from many diseases and contributes to increased yields.

To combat fungi, an infusion is used: a handful of peels is poured with one liter of water, infused for a day, then strained, and the plants are sprayed two to three times every six days. To fight spider mites, aphids, and gnats in the greenhouse, a handful of onion peels is poured with one liter of warm water, infused for three to five days, strained, and household soap is added. The resulting concentrate is diluted for spraying in a ratio of one to two.
