He fell head over heels in three weeks, proposed, and received a "Yes, yes, yes!" in return. The chosen one of the 92-year-old retiree is an 82-year-old woman. Do you still doubt the power of love? It knows no age.

In a nursing home in Missouri, USA, a wedding was held for a groom and bride whose combined age is 174 years. 92-year-old Dave Wichman proposed to 82-year-old Jackie, whom he had known for only three weeks. Both the groom and bride are widowed.

A Whirlwind Romance

Photos of the seniors' wedding were shared on social media by the administrators of the nursing home where the ceremony took place. The "young" couple got married right in the dining hall of the complex — it was here that the future spouses first met.

Dave and Jackie crossed paths at various events at the retirement home and quickly became close. 92-year-old Dave did not hesitate long and just three weeks after their meeting, he proposed to his beloved, getting down on one knee right in her apartment. Jackie responded with an enthusiastic agreement, which, according to witnesses, sounded more than emotional: "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"

"I think none of us expected to find each other, but it happened," Dave said about their second chance at love. "We both experienced grief, we both dealt with it, and we were lucky to find each other."

Wedding of the Year

Dave and Jackie also did not delay the wedding ceremony. It took less than a month to prepare. The bride donned an elegant "pearl" dress, complemented by a necklace, while the groom wore a dark blue jacket with a yellow tie and beige trousers. The staff of the nursing home decorated the hall with balloons, prepared refreshments, and even ordered a real wedding cake.

Their relatives from different parts of the state came to congratulate the newlyweds. The groom's daughter, Liz, confessed that this day means a lot to her. "I know they will take good care of each other. They are both very people-oriented," she said.

Guests applauded the first kiss of Dave and Jackie as husband and wife under an arch of pink, gold, and white balloons. The wedding decor also featured pink butterflies and flowers.

The celebration concluded with the cutting of the wedding cake. Now Dave and Jackie, who share many hobbies — they attend church together and study the Bible — plan to enjoy each other's company and participate in the life of the nursing home.
