When we talk about children in Japan, the first association that comes to mind is "discipline": neat schoolchildren in identical uniforms diligently study, do not interrupt the teacher, complete their homework independently, and do not skip classes. How do Japanese women manage to raise children this way?
From an early age, children are instilled with a sense of responsibility. They are taught to take care of their belongings. Until the child starts school, they are allowed to do almost anything. From birth to 2 years old, the mother spends all her time with the child, providing maximum physical contact. In Japan, it is not customary to leave small children with grandparents. The care of the child in the first years of life falls entirely on the mother and father.
Children in Japan are taught not to scatter toys, always putting them away after playing. Moreover, toddlers do not grab many toys at once; they take 1-2. Japanese people do not like to clutter their space, so as soon as the child grows up, they get rid of strollers and other age-inappropriate items.
Japanese people are not afraid to let their children go outside alone, as their country is considered safe. A schoolchild can get to school by themselves. If a child struggles with something, they are taught to repeat the action, encouraging them that the desired result will definitely be achieved next time.
