Iraq's Ayatollah Sistani called for collective jihad to protect Iran.
Iraq's Shiite leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Sistani, issued a fatwa for collective jihad to protect the Islamic Revolution of Iran. This was reported by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on their Telegram channel.
For Muslims, jihad is a holy war prescribed by the Quran against infidels with the aim of spreading Islam.
On March 4, Iranian Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli issued a fatwa on jihad, stating that "the spilling of the blood of Zionists and U.S. President Donald Trump is mandatory."
According to experts, other states may join the declared jihad.
