Horseshoe Cake: A Recipe for Luck and Flavor

Appetizing carrot cake in the shape of a horseshoe — beautiful and symbolic.

According to beliefs, a horseshoe brings good luck. We suggest making a cake in this shape: it not only looks impressive but also turns out incredibly delicious.


Ingredients (for 10 servings)

  • 10 eggs
  • 350 g sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 450 g grated carrots
  • 150 g ground hazelnuts
  • 150 g ground almonds
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 450 g white chocolate
  • 250 g butter
  • 600 g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp berry syrup
  • decorative toppings

Preparation

Dough

  1. Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Place the whites in the refrigerator.
  2. Whip the yolks with sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon. Add the grated carrots and mix.
  3. Combine the hazelnuts with the almonds, flour, and baking powder, then add to the carrot mixture.
  4. Whip the egg whites into a stiff foam and gently fold into the carrot mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the horseshoe mold and bake at 180°C for about 50 minutes. Allow to cool, then cut into 2 layers.

Soaking

  • Lightly soak the bottom layer with berry syrup.

Cream

  1. Break the white chocolate and melt it together with the butter. Allow to cool.
  2. Combine the melted chocolate with the cream cheese.
  3. Spread the cream on the layers, top, and sides of the cake.

Decoration and Serving

  • Optionally decorate with confectionery elements.
  • Refrigerate until serving.
