Pear Chili Sauce: A Sweet and Spicy Idea for the Kitchen

This unusual sauce combines the sweetness of pears with the spiciness of peppers and will be a bright accent to meat, fish, vegetables, or snacks.

Ingredients

  • Pears — 500 g
  • Bell pepper — 250 g
  • Hot chili pepper — 2 pcs.
  • Sugar — 100 g
  • Salt — 1 tsp.
  • 9% vinegar — 50 ml

Preparation

  1. Wash the pears, remove the core, and cut them into cubes.
  2. Remove the seeds and stems from the bell pepper, and cut it into medium pieces.
  3. Slice the hot pepper into rings.
  4. In a pot, combine the pears, peppers, add sugar, salt, and vinegar. Mix and let sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Place the pot over medium heat, bring to a boil, and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Blend the contents until smooth.
  7. Return to heat and cook for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  8. Pour into jars, cool, and store in the refrigerator.

Tips

The sauce stores well for winter: pour into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and keep in a cool place.
