This unusual sauce combines the sweetness of pears with the spiciness of peppers and will be a bright accent to meat, fish, vegetables, or snacks.
Ingredients
- Pears — 500 g
- Bell pepper — 250 g
- Hot chili pepper — 2 pcs.
- Sugar — 100 g
- Salt — 1 tsp.
- 9% vinegar — 50 ml
Preparation
- Wash the pears, remove the core, and cut them into cubes.
- Remove the seeds and stems from the bell pepper, and cut it into medium pieces.
- Slice the hot pepper into rings.
- In a pot, combine the pears, peppers, add sugar, salt, and vinegar. Mix and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Place the pot over medium heat, bring to a boil, and cook for 10 minutes.
- Blend the contents until smooth.
- Return to heat and cook for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Pour into jars, cool, and store in the refrigerator.
Tips
The sauce stores well for winter: pour into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and keep in a cool place.
