Unusual fatigue, irritability, and frequent colds — all of these may indicate a vitamin deficiency.
Expert: Nafiset Khachmafova, therapist
According to the specialist, the first symptom of avitaminosis is often unusual fatigue:
“For example, you are doing the same amount of work as before, but you have less and less strength, and your mood is getting worse,” Khachmafova noted.
Vitamin deficiency can also lead to sleep disturbances, increased irritability, and susceptibility to colds.
What symptoms signal a deficiency of specific vitamins:
- Vitamin A — dryness of the skin and eyes, cracks on the lips and corners of the mouth.
- B Vitamins — brittle nails, hair loss, dermatitis.
- Vitamin B12 and folic acid — weakness, shortness of breath even with slight exertion, pale skin.
- Vitamin D — decreased physical endurance, muscle and joint pain, mood swings, sleep disturbances.
The doctor emphasized: if you notice similar symptoms, it is advisable to consult a specialist and get tested, rather than self-medicate.
