Apple Inc. may postpone the release of its first foldable smartphone. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.

Renowned insider Mark Gurman stated that Apple has faced difficulties in developing the foldable iPhone. The specialist suggested that the announcement or release of the device may be delayed — for example, it could be presented in the fall, but the first buyers will receive the device significantly later.

"Producing foldable phones is a very complex task," Gurman explained the reason for the delay. According to him, the most challenging part is creating a suitable display — one that can correctly display the iOS interface and has a screen fold that satisfies the company's engineers. The specialist predicts that the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be available for sale first, followed by the foldable device.

Mark Gurman noted that Apple has historically been slow to adopt new technologies. For instance, in 2017, it introduced the technically complex iPhone X, which had a bezel-less screen, while competitors released similar gadgets much earlier.

At the end of March, insider Fixed Focus Digital stated that Apple has not succeeded in developing an iPhone with a camera hidden under the screen. In this regard, the company will continue to release smartphones with Dynamic Island for the next few years.
