Failed: the release of the new generation iPhone has been postponed

Apple will not release an iPhone without a screen cutout in the coming years.

Apple has not succeeded in developing an iPhone with a camera hidden under the screen. This was stated by a well-known insider under the nickname Fixed Focus Digital on his blog on Weibo.

According to the specialist, the American company is actively working on creating a smartphone with a front camera that will be hidden under the screen. However, the development of the new technology is not progressing as quickly as Apple would like, which is why the release of the full-screen device has been postponed.

The author explained that the next-generation technology, which involves placing the Face ID sensor and front camera under the display, will allow the company to release an iPhone with a "clean" screen. There will be no Dynamic Island or other similar cutouts — Apple has been releasing iPhones with screen elements for almost 10 years, since 2017.

Fixed Focus Digital believes that in the coming years, the company will prefer proven solutions. Therefore, smartphones and other gadgets will remain with cameras placed in a "notch" or other design element.

At the same time, the insider predicts success for Apple's first foldable smartphone, which is expected to be released at the end of the year. "Ultra-thin, moderately large, and affordable — the iPhone Fold simply has no reasons to fail," the author concluded.

Earlier, Apple announced that the annual WWDC conference will take place on June 8. At the event, the company is expected to present iOS 27.
