Most experts lean towards the idea that it concerns an update of the already existing M4 GT3 Evo model.
BMW M Motorsport has published a mysterious teaser on social media that has already generated quite a buzz among fans of the brand. The shadowy image reveals familiar features of a racing car based on the 2026 BMW M4 model, but the manufacturer is not in a hurry to reveal all the details.
Upon closer inspection, the teaser clearly shows yellow LED daytime running lights and the distinctive large grilles in the brand's signature style. This design unmistakably indicates that the new model belongs to the current generation of the M4. For this reason, most experts lean towards the idea that it concerns an update of the already existing M4 GT3 Evo model, which was presented in its current form in mid-2024. Given the relatively young age of this racer, many experts believe that the Bavarians have simply refreshed the car's livery for the 2026 season.
Particular attention should be paid to the grille. Unlike the already known racing versions based on the M4, the outer edges of both grilles are now illuminated in yellow. This solution resembles the glowing grilles that are already used on several production models of BMW. Upon detailed examination of the teaser, it becomes noticeable that the horizontal elements of the grille are identical to those used on the existing M4 GT3 Evo.
However, some brand fans entertain a bolder scenario. In April of last year, BMW surprised the public by introducing the one-of-a-kind M3 Touring GT3 Evo. Originally conceived as an April Fool's joke by designer Simon von Braun, this car ultimately became a reality. Since its debut, the M3 Touring has become one of the most sought-after cars in the M lineup, successfully combining outstanding dynamic performance with the practicality of a station wagon. Nevertheless, the emergence of a full-fledged racing version seems unlikely, as the company already has the M4 GT3 Evo at its disposal.
