BeiDou provides horizontal positioning accuracy of up to 0.3 m.

The BeiDou navigation satellite system will soon be upgraded in orbit, which will enable it to provide higher quality services, the China Satellite Navigation Office (CSNO) reported.

The upcoming process will optimize the operational status of some satellites. CSNO assured that it will continuously improve the coordination and testing of satellites in orbit, as well as monitor and maintain the system's functionality to ensure a positive user experience.

BeiDou is a mature, fully functional, and high-performance global satellite navigation system, currently operating 50 active satellites in orbit. It can provide global positioning accuracy of up to 10 m, speed measurement accuracy of up to 0.2 m/sec, and time synchronization accuracy within 20 nanoseconds, CSNO noted.

Thanks to the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) service, the BeiDou system provides horizontal positioning accuracy of up to 0.3 m and vertical positioning accuracy of up to 0.6 m.

This system is already deeply integrated into the economic and social life of China and continuously provides high-precision positioning, navigation, and timing services to its users, CSNO stated.
