In Estonia, near the border with Russia, a drone with a warhead was found in a field, ERR reports. What the "warhead" was equipped with has not been disclosed.
The device was discovered about two weeks ago near the village of Riuga, located several dozen kilometers from the border with Russia. A local resident found the UAV when he came to work on his land.
The head of the Estonian Security Police Department, Garryus Puusepp, stated that the report of the find was received on June 10. The main part of the device lay in tall grass, while debris was also found nearby in a tree – likely, the drone first crashed into the treetop.
Despite the fact that two weeks have passed, the Estonian authorities have either been unable to identify the country of origin of the drone or do not wish to discuss it.
However, based on indirect signs, it can be assumed that the drone that fell near the Estonian village was Ukrainian. "The UAV stopped being detected on radars near the location of the debris. Therefore, based on this information, I can assume that this is one of the drones that flew in on June 3," commented Puusepp.
It is worth reminding that on that day, Ukrainian strike drones were flying to attack targets on Russian territory near St. Petersburg.
The UAV was found to have a warhead weighing about 5 kg. What it includes has not been disclosed.
It should be noted that the warhead can vary:
Fragmentation — causes an explosion and scattering of fragments.
High-explosive — acts mainly through shockwave and destruction.
Kinetic — designed to penetrate armor.
Thermobaric — creates a volumetric explosion with high temperature and pressure.
Incendiary — causes ignition.
