The Deceptive Virus Bypassed iPhone Protection

TechRadar: a virus for iPhone has been taught to bypass the built-in protection in iOS.

Malicious software (malware) has been created for Apple smartphones that can operate stealthily. This was noted by TechRadar.

The virus, named Predator, was discovered by specialists at Jamf Threat Labs. They noted that the program can secretly launch on compromised iOS devices. The malware can monitor the smartphone owner through the camera and microphone.

iOS has built-in protection against surveillance: if a certain program — even one built into the iPhone — accesses the camera or microphone, a green or orange dot appears on the screen, respectively. The creators of Predator have taught the deceptive virus to bypass this protection, something no other virus has managed to do before.

The article states that the virus is quite difficult to detect — it can only be identified through indirect signs. A specialist, even if he suspects that the device is infected, will need to check the load on the iPhone's processor and memory to confirm the fact of the attack.
