The foldable iPhone will be announced in 2026, but deliveries will not begin until 2027.
Apple's foldable smartphone will be a scarce item in the first months after its announcement. This is reported by MacRumors, citing authoritative insider Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to the specialist, the development of the iPhone Fold is lagging behind previously projected timelines. However, Apple still intends to present the gadget to the public in the fall of 2026. However, it will be impossible to purchase the device by the end of the year due to severe shortages.
Kuo predicted that the first buyers of the foldable smartphone will have to wait a long time for their device. The insider noted that regular and uninterrupted supplies of the gadget will not begin until at least 2027. This will be due to limited supply and expected high demand.
Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Foxconn, Apple's partner, was supposed to start limited production of the iPhone Fold by the end of the year. There is no information about this, leading to the conclusion that the foldable device is still in the design verification stage.
In mid-December, sources from the iPhone-Ticker.de blog reported that the foldable iPhone will have compact dimensions. The device will feature an external screen of 5.5 inches and an internal screen of 7.76 inches.
