Microsoft called AI in Windows safe but warned about viruses.

Microsoft has stated that artificial intelligence (AI) is safe for Windows users, but pointed out potential risks. This was reported by Windows Latest.

Journalists noted a recent post by Microsoft on the social network X, where the company claimed that new features in Windows 11 would allow people to "easily, safely, and confidently use AI." However, a note dated November 17 was found on the corporation's website, stating that the use of neural networks in the operating system (OS) carries risks.

The material reveals the essence of agents — AI-based systems capable of analyzing and performing various tasks. Microsoft engineers emphasized that the use of agent AI creates new security risks — for example, the embedding of malicious content within user interface elements or documents. The company also previously acknowledged that in exceptional cases, AI agents could download viruses onto computers themselves.

Experts from Windows Latest stated that Microsoft itself believes that the neural networks integrated into Windows can be unsafe. Thus, when activating the AI agent feature in the new version of the OS, a warning appears regarding potential security consequences.
