Windows 11 Control Broken

Windows 11 has stopped recognizing the keyboard and mouse due to a bug.

Microsoft has acknowledged that after the Windows 11 update, the keyboard and mouse may stop working. This was noted by Neowin.

The issue concerns the patch bundle KB5066835, which the company released in mid-October. Journalists from the media noted that the update was supposed to fix critical vulnerabilities in the operating system (OS), but it also introduced new errors. Under certain conditions, the OS may stop recognizing connected keyboards and mice — the system simply will not recognize the accessories.

Microsoft engineers explained that computer accessories may stop working if Windows is switched to recovery mode. Thus, a computer in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) becomes unmanageable. "This issue prevents navigation through any recovery options in WinRE," Microsoft emphasized.

The report states that most computer owners use USB keyboards and mice. As an alternative, accessories can be connected via a PS/2 port, but such keyboards and mice are almost no longer available for sale. Additionally, the voice assistant does not work in Windows recovery mode, which could have been used to control the computer.
