Evgeni Malkin Suspended for Five Games for Slashing Opponent in the Face

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin received a five-game suspension for slashing Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin in the face.

This was reported by the NHL press service.

In the 21st minute of the game between Pittsburgh and Buffalo (1:5), which took place on March 6, the 39-year-old Russian got into a scuffle with the captain of Buffalo. The players jostled near the Sabres' net, during which Malkin slashed his opponent in the face with his stick. After that, he dropped his gloves, but the fight did not happen.

In the current season, Malkin has played 46 games, scoring 13 goals and providing 34 assists with a plus-minus rating of +13.
