The Italian National Appeals Court has upheld biathlete Rebekka Passler's appeal against her temporary suspension due to a positive test for letrozole, which the athlete provided during the out-of-competition period, as reported by the press service of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).
The biathlete was previously suspended from participating in the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The court ruled that the substance entered the athlete's body unintentionally as a result of food contamination. Thanks to this court decision, Passler can return to the Italian Olympic team starting February 16 and participate in the remaining races of the 2026 Olympic Games.
Rebekka Passler is 24 years old. Her best result in the World Cup is 11th place in the individual race.
