The world’s number one player from Belarus and four-time Grand Slam champion Arina Sobolenko ranks second in career prize money earned.
In the updated WTA ranking as of February 2, Sobolenko has a total of $46,789,918 in prize money. The increase compared to the previous version of the ranking is $1,391,952.
At the top, with a significant lead, is the legendary American Serena Williams ($94,816,730).
In third place is the world’s second-ranked player, Polish Iga Swiatek ($44,612,955), followed by Venus Williams ($42,985,860).
In fifth place is Romania's Simona Halep ($40,236,618), in sixth is another Belarusian, Victoria Azarenka ($38,890,473), and in seventh is Russian Maria Sharapova ($38,777,962).
Sobolenko set a record for the most prize money earned in a single season last year, totaling $15,008,519. In the new season, she has already won the WTA-500 tournament in Brisbane and reached the final of the Australian Open.
