Due to technical malfunctions on the website e-monetas.lv, the sale of the coin "Līgavas vainags" has been halted. As soon as the issues are resolved, Latvijas Banka will announce a new date and time for the start of sales.
It was previously reported that today Latvijas Banka planned to release a silver collectible coin "Līgavas vainags" with crystals.
On the obverse of the coin, in the center, there is a wreath with glitter. The relief of the base of the wreath imitates the texture of fabric. Six transparent crystals are embedded in the glitter. Eight bouquets of lines are symmetrically placed around the edge of the coin.
On the reverse side of the coin, in the center, there is text from a folk song. Eight bouquets of lines are also symmetrically placed around the edge of the coin.
The mintage of the coin is 3000 pieces.
The weight of the coin is 22 grams, and the diameter is 35 millimeters. The graphic design of the coin was created by Dace Liela, and the sculptural design was done by Ligita Franckeviča.
The purchase limit for the silver collectible coin for one person will be three coins.
The coin is minted at the Lithuanian mint Lietuvos monetu kalykla.
Collectible coins are legal tender only in the country that issued them. In form, collectible coins are money, but in essence, they are works of art. They are made from gold, silver, or other precious metals with particularly high-quality minting. Unlike circulating coins, collectibles are usually not intended for use in transactions but serve as gifts, commemorative items, and for collecting. For this reason, the value of such coins significantly exceeds their nominal value. Thus, the price of the "Bride's Wreath" coin is 120 euros.
