Javelin thrower Anete Sietiņa and road cyclist Tom Skujiņš were awarded the 'Three Stars Award' as the best athletes of Latvia for 2025, writes LETA.

Sietiņa received this award for the first time in her career, while Skujiņš received it for the second time.

In the past season, Sietiņa won a silver medal at the World Championship — the highest achievement for Latvian javelin throwers at world championships since the country regained independence.

Skujiņš confirmed his status as one of the leaders in European and world road cycling last year. He finished fifth at both the World Championship and the European Championship in a highly competitive environment.

The Sports Team of the Year was recognized as the men's national floorball team of Latvia, which, as of December 2024, when the application submissions for the 2024 awards were completed, ranked fourth at the World Championship. Meanwhile, the title of Sports Small Team of the Year went to the beach volleyball duo Tina Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova, who became world champions.

The best athlete in technical sports was recognized as speedway racer Andžejs Lebedevs, and the 'Rising Star of the Year' award went to biathlete Estere Volfa.

The Paralympic Athletes of the Year were recognized as para-athlete Diana Krūmiņa and para-equestrian Rihards Snikus.

The best physical education teacher of the year was recognized as Arvis Sprude, who dedicated his entire teaching career to the Kuldīga Primary School named after Indriķis Zeberiņš. Meanwhile, the award in the 'Contribution to Sports' category was received by Andris Vitauts Kļaviņš — one of the key figures in the history of women's volleyball in Latvia.

The Sports Family of the Year was named the Cēriņš family from the Cēsis region — mother Madara, father Kristaps, and eldest son Kārlis. Finally, in the 'Best Municipality in Sports' category, the Riga City Council was recognized.
