Latvian tennis player Alona Ostapenko, paired with Taiwanese athlete Hsieh Su-wei, won in the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 doubles tournament in Brisbane on Wednesday, LETA reports.
The top-seeded pair of Ostapenko and Hsieh defeated Australian Priscilla Hon and Czech Karolína Muchová in the quarterfinals with a score of 6:1, 1:6, 10:6.
It was previously reported that in the first round, the Latvian-Taiwanese duo won against Australian Olivia Gadecki and Slovakian Tereza Mihalíková with a score of 6:1, 6:4.
Reaching the quarterfinals earned Ostapenko 195 WTA ranking points.
The WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane is held on hard courts.
