Ovechkin Ranks Ninth in NHL for Most Power Play Points

Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin registered an assist in a home game of the NHL regular season against the Rangers (6:3).

The 40-year-old forward assisted Canadian forward Justin Sourdif in converting a power play opportunity.

Ovechkin recorded his 612th power play point, tying him with American defenseman Phil Housley. They are tied for ninth place in the league. The record is held by Canadian forward Wayne Gretzky with 890 points.

In the 2025/26 season, Ovechkin has scored 34 points (15+19) in 40 games.
