Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for the NEOM Sky sports venue – the world's first "sky" stadium, which will be located at a height of 350 m above the desert surface.
It is planned that the sports venue with 46,000 seats will be used for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia. The total cost of constructing the arena is estimated at $1 billion.
The stadium is expected to be fully powered by renewable energy sources. The official opening of the arena is scheduled for 2032.
According to preliminary plans, the World Cup in Saudi Arabia will take place at a total of 15 stadiums in five cities of the country: Riyadh, Jeddah, Abha, Al Khobar, and Neom. Notably, the planned "sky" stadium will be located in Neom – a city that has yet to be built.
