High-ranking representatives of the two NATO countries have indicated when to expect an attacking Russian army. One set a rendezvous for 2028, the other for 2030.
British military intelligence and analytical centers of NATO countries have concluded that by 2030 Russia may be fully prepared for a direct armed attack on NATO member states. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a working visit to the defense factory of Stark in Swindon.
"If you need a reminder of the importance of this, it is our intelligence assessment and the assessment of other NATO countries that Russia may attack NATO as early as 2030. So you can see the urgency and priority we give to this issue," Starmer said, motivating the workers.
A different opinion is held in Riga. Russia may leverage its advantage in drones to threaten the Baltic states, warned the Commander of the National Armed Forces of Latvia, General Kaspars Pudans, in an interview with the Financial Times.
"If I were in the Kremlin, I would say that if we are going to do something, we should do it by the end of 2028," said the Latvian general.
