The Enthusiasts' Hockey League (EHL) condemns the fight that occurred on Friday between the 'Priedaines' and 'Clappers' teams from Kekava, and will review this case at a meeting of the Disciplinary Committee, tournament organizers report.
On Friday, in a match of group E6 of the Enthusiasts' Hockey League, the Kekava team defeated 'Priedaini' with a score of 6:0.
About four minutes before the end of regular time, a mass brawl broke out between the teams, which also involved the coaches. The fight ended with bloodstains on the center of the field, and players required medical assistance.
On Sunday, the Enthusiasts' Hockey League issued a statement condemning the fight that occurred on Friday between the two teams.
"The values of our league are based on respect, honesty, sportsmanship, and a safe environment for all participants. Actions such as those observed in the mentioned game are categorically unacceptable and incompatible with our core principles," the statement said.
The statement noted that the circumstances are currently being investigated and the match footage is being analyzed, and an emergency meeting of the Disciplinary Committee will be convened shortly to assess the behavior of the parties involved and take necessary measures.
"We believe that there is room for competition and excitement in sports, but it should never escalate into aggression or threats, so we will continue to actively work to ensure that the league remains a safe and respectful environment for all its participants," the statement said.
