The change of government will require additional expenses from the state budget. More than €509,000 is planned to be allocated for severance payments and compensation for unused vacation to former government members, parliamentary secretaries, and employees of ministerial offices.

After the formation of the new government, the state will have to pay at least €509,405 in severance payments and compensations to officials who have lost their positions.

The corresponding draft order has been prepared by the State Chancellery. The document provides for the allocation of funds from the budget program "Funds for Contingencies."

The money is intended for payments to former members of the Cabinet of Ministers, employees of the Prime Minister's office, ministerial advisors, as well as parliamentary secretaries of ministries.

In fact, these are standard legally mandated payments made upon the termination of powers as a result of a change in government.

The largest amount is allocated for the State Chancellery — €208,525. It is through this office that payments will be made to some employees who worked under the previous government.

Significant amounts are also planned for several ministries:

  • Ministry of Education and Science — €52,923;
  • Ministry of Defense — €52,262;
  • Ministry of Climate and Energy — €49,293;
  • Ministry of Justice — €42,726;
  • Ministry of Culture — €38,123;
  • Ministry of Communications — €35,469;
  • Ministry of Smart Governance and Regional Development — €30,084.

What is important to know: these payments are not additional bonuses or political incentives. They are provided for by labor and state regulations and include both severance pay and compensation for unused vacation.

The change of government is traditionally accompanied by the replacement not only of ministers but also of some politically appointed employees working in their offices. Therefore, expenses arise not only from the departure of Cabinet members but also from the termination of powers of advisors, assistants, and parliamentary secretaries.

The funds are planned to be allocated from the reserve budget program for unforeseen expenses after the corresponding government order is approved.

Thus, personnel changes in the executive branch will lead to additional budget expenses of more than half a million euros, which will be covered by state reserves.
