Sociologists conducted the survey before Evika Silina's resignation and the nomination of a new candidate for prime minister.
So, the latest survey of Latvians regarding their political preferences was conducted a few days before the government crisis. Therefore, we will only learn about the voters' reaction to Silina's resignation and the formation of a new government from the next survey, which will be conducted at the end of May or the beginning of June.
According to the current survey conducted by SKDS, commissioned by Latvian TV, the most popular party has once again become "Latvia First," which has only strengthened its position over the month. If elections to the Saeima were held today, the Šlesers party could count on the support of 14.9% of Latvian citizens. The same number of voters are ready to vote for the "Progressives."
The top three leaders, with a noticeable lag, is rounded out by the United List - 11.5% of the votes.
In fourth place is "New Unity," which 11.3% of respondents would be ready to vote for. Very close to this political force is "Sovereign Power" with 10% support from voters.
In the next Saeima, both the Union of Greens and Farmers (8.7%) and the National Alliance, whose popularity has noticeably decreased - today 8.2% of respondents are ready to vote for this party, may be represented.
For the first time, a new political force - "We Are Changing the Rules of the Game" directed by Alvis Hermanis - has overcome the five percent barrier in the ratings, currently supported by 5.2% of respondents.
There are still more than 4 months until the elections, and everything can still change.
