Amid all the scandals, the candidate from "New Unity" for the position of Prime Minister in the elections will be Evika Silina.
The current Prime Minister Evika Silina will be the candidate for Prime Minister from "New Unity" in the upcoming parliamentary elections this fall, confirmed board member of "New Unity" and Minister of Finance Arvils Aseradens.
"I have not heard any opposing signals. It is clear that it will be," Aseradens said in response to a question about whether Silina would be the party's candidate for Prime Minister.
Her candidacy is yet to be officially nominated by "New Unity."
In the opinion of the editorial team and in light of the recent scandals, the position of "New Unity" raises, to put it mildly, questions. Or maybe these people really do not live in Latvia, but somewhere in their own world?
As reported, several parties have already announced their candidates for the position of Prime Minister. The candidate from the "Progressives" for Prime Minister will be the head of the parliamentary faction Andris Shuvev, from the Latvian Farmers' Union - Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis, from the opposition National Alliance - Ilze Indriksone, and from the opposition party "Latvia First" - Ainars Slesers.
