On Tuesday, at a closed meeting, the government approved the critical infrastructure resilience strategy for 2026-2029 developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in collaboration with security services and other ministries.
The strategy has the status of restricted access information.
Additionally, at the meeting, the government was presented with a report on the risk assessment of state critical infrastructure. This document also has the status of restricted access information.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the LETA agency that the strategy defines the goals and priorities for achieving and maintaining a high level of resilience of critical infrastructure. It is developed at least once every four years and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document includes strategic goals and priorities in the area of critical infrastructure resilience, taking into account cross-border and intersectoral interdependencies.
Furthermore, the strategy provides a description of the critical infrastructure management system to achieve strategic goals and priorities, including the distribution of tasks and responsibilities among involved institutions, critical infrastructure owners, and other parties.
The strategy also contains a description of the measures necessary to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure, including a summary of the risk assessment of state critical infrastructure.
The document includes measures to support critical infrastructure, including actions to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as measures for the readiness of critical infrastructure and principles of action in the event of a threat to the state.
