A reader of the bb.lv portal from Purvciems noticed an ultra-modern vehicle with the logo of the municipality-owned residential building management company.
We sent a letter to the Executive Director of Riga, Janis Lange, who forwarded it through the proper channels. And now we have received a response numbered 2026-1-5e/14249, which was prepared by the Chairman of the Board of Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks, Maris Ozolins.
For Work and Management
The attached materials detail all types of vehicles acquired from January 16, 2025, to May 29, 2026.
The most expensive were the specialized lifts IVECO DAILY/Socage 27D Speed, costing 155,000 euros each, for the RNP transport service.
The MAN TGE cargo van with a high-pressure system for the water supply and sewage service cost 73,600 euros. These are undoubtedly necessary technical means.
However, some oddities begin to emerge. For example, 10 Hyundai INSTER passenger cars were purchased, each costing 24,839.67 euros. Two are specifically assigned as personal vehicles:
- for the head of the Client Attraction Center of the property management and support department;
- for the head of the house restoration department.
The others are, so to speak, operational vehicles for the managers.
This vehicle is an electric crossover, quite innovative, which began production in 2024. With a revolutionary design that likely impressed our reader. The fleet worth 2 million euros
What is surprising is that the Riga company chose a manufacturer not from the European Union, but from faraway South Korea.
Moreover, overseas manufacturers supplied RNP with 19 FORD Transit vans, each costing approximately 37,000 euros (depending on various configurations for different departments of the company). However, they did not neglect the EU — even for the needs of the courier (!) of the document management department, they purchased not a moped, but a CITROEN E-BERLINGO for 29,843.8 euros. It, like many other vehicles of the company, can be identified by the serial numbers EY.
In total, according to our calculations, in 2025 and in the first 5 months of 2026, RNP acquired vehicles worth 2,278,901.22 euros. And the question remains as to why such a large-scale technical rearmament program is taking place against the backdrop of discussions about the upcoming privatization of the municipal enterprise…
