After counting 100% of the votes in the parliamentary elections in Hungary, the "Tisza" party led by Peter Madjar received 141 out of 199 seats in parliament, while Viktor Orban's "Fidesz" party got 52 seats. Madjar claims fraud.
The National Election Office of Hungary has published the final results of the parliamentary elections in the country after counting 100% of the votes.
According to them, the "Tisza" party led by Peter Madjar received 141 out of 199 seats in parliament, while the right-populist party "Fidesz" of Prime Minister Viktor Orban got 52 seats. The far-right party "Our Homeland" secured six seats, while the other parties did not make it into parliament. In the party list voting, "Tisza" garnered 53.18%, "Fidesz" - 38.61%, and "Our Homeland" - 5.63%.
Madjar Claims Fraud
Meanwhile, the election winner Peter Madjar announced that he intends to contest the voting results in the 2nd district of Vas County due to fraud. According to him, voters were misled because a person named Peter Madjar, who is close to Viktor Orban's "Fidesz" party but officially non-partisan, was running there.
Madjar's namesake received 909 votes. Only because of this, according to the politician, the official "Fidesz" candidate Peter Agi was able to narrowly defeat the candidate from "Tisza", Viktoria Strompova, and obtain a parliamentary mandate. According to the election office, Agi received 25,700 votes, while Strompova received 25,452.
In his video address on social media platform Facebook, the likely future Prime Minister of Hungary stated that there was "deliberate, malicious misinformation in this district modeled after the Russian approach." The police began investigating the legality of the non-partisan namesake of Madjar's candidacy even before the elections. A court will decide whether a re-vote will be held in this district, reports "Deutsche Welle."
