The Minister of Economics explained what has been achieved during the arduous negotiations regarding airBaltic.
The head of the Ministry of Economics, Viktor Valainis (Union of Greens and Farmers), after overcoming yet another government crisis, recorded on social media what has been achieved.
First - a quality solution for the airBaltic loan will be prepared, taking into account all the recommendations of the State Audit Office.
Second - the Prime Minister takes charge of the process.
Third - the Ministry of Communications will be reorganized, as it cannot manage strategically important processes.
Fourth - the Prime Minister will dismiss the Minister of Communications if the decisions are not implemented.
This is all, of course, interesting, but there are less than 6 months until the elections, and it is unlikely that the Prime Minister will manage to dismiss the Minister of Communications, as, in any case, the reorganization of the ministry will take time. As for airBaltic, the company will need new financial injections from the state by autumn if the issue with investors and restructuring is not resolved.
