Kristersson: Sweden Refused to Help the U.S. in the Strait of Hormuz.

Sweden will not participate in ensuring the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced the refusal to assist American President Donald Trump, as reported by Sweden Herald.

According to the Swedish Prime Minister, Stockholm cannot influence the situation in the region. In addition, the country's resources are currently primarily focused on aiding Ukraine.

"We need to remain calm. There is a lot of talk right now, but Sweden's participation in this is not relevant," Kristersson stated in response to Trump's demand for NATO to send military ships to the Strait of Hormuz to protect vessels.

Earlier, the U.S. President stated that the North Atlantic Alliance faces a bleak future if the member countries do not respond to Washington's requests for assistance in ensuring the security of the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Trump expressed doubt that the allies in the bloc would come to the aid of the U.S.
