Macron's advisors came to Moscow for negotiations on Ukraine but were told to go f*** themselves by Putin's advisor Ushakov, reports the Financial Times citing sources.
“Russia rejects requests from European countries for a greater role in negotiations - the last time this happened was in February when French national security advisors Emmanuel Bonne and Bertrand Buzyn visited Moscow to negotiate with Yuri Ushakov. According to sources, the French officials were urging Moscow that European allies of Kyiv should have a say in the negotiations. Ushakov's response was roughly: ‘Sorry, actually no, we don’t want to, go f*** yourselves,’” writes the Financial Times.
These statements have already been commented on by Peskov.
“Europeans do not want to help the peace process. When the representative from France came, he did not bring any positive signals. And therefore, he really had nothing positive to hear,” Peskov said in a comment to FT.
The publication also states that Trump remains convinced that Russia is strong and Ukraine is weak. There are also no signs of Washington's readiness to increase pressure on Putin.
