President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko commented on Ukraine's statements that the 'Oreshnik' missile system deployed on Belarusian territory should be considered a legitimate target by NATO.

"This is not even a newsworthy event. This is pure nonsense, and fools are talking about it. I'm not saying that tomorrow we will strike Vilnius, Warsaw, or Kyiv with this 'Oreshnik.' God forbid. That is not our task. We need to protect our country. And to ensure that the 'Oreshnik' does not strike, do not meddle with us. Neither from Ukraine, nor from Poland, nor from Lithuania, nor from Latvia. Let's resolve issues humanely," Lukashenko said.

At the same time, he assured that he is in no way threatening.

"Do you think that if they consider objects on the territory of Belarus a legitimate target, I will just sleep and watch? I can reach 70 km, 200 km. We have the means to do so. Therefore, I would advise them not to wag their tongues and chatter. If they consider the 'Oreshnik' a legitimate target – please," Lukashenko said.

As reported by bb.lv, today the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, met with prominent Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya at the Riga Castle.
