Those working in public administration are "subjected to bullying from all sides" - Silinja

Those working in public administration are "subjected to bullying from all sides," Prime Minister Evika Silinja stated in an interview with LTV on the program "Morning Panorama," expressing her dissatisfaction, writes LETA.

Silinja believes that the government she leads has implemented the largest changes in the number of public administration employees since the government of Valdis Dombrovskis.

However, she is dissatisfied that in the fight against bureaucracy, a hostile attitude towards public administration workers is forming in society, and those working there are "subjected to bullying from all sides," while their work is belittled on social media.

In response to a request to clarify what the promise mentioned in her government's "restart plans" to reduce bureaucracy by 25% means, Silinja did not provide a clear answer, only explaining that the reduction refers to the volume of regulatory regulation, the time entrepreneurs spend, and the amount of financial resources used.

Silinja believes that, overall, the changes in the government that occurred a year ago were necessary and yielded results.

At the same time, she stated that the government needs to continue implementing changes that may not be popular in society but are necessary.
