Stop lying and pulling the wool over our eyes!

The opposition deputy is dissatisfied with how the ruling party is handling the situation with airBaltic.

Tonight, during a live broadcast on LTV, the host of the program Šodienas jautājums asked head of the parliamentary faction "New Unity" Edmunds Jurēvics point-blank if he could clearly say whether the state would need to invest in airBaltic again.

"In the current geopolitical situation, nothing can be ruled out. But it would be irresponsible on my part to make any promises," the deputy stated.

For his part, opposition representative from the United List Edgars Tavars accused the ruling party of lying. "A year and a half ago, the Minister of Finance in our faction promised that airBaltic would go public, and now we hear otherwise - there are no plans for an IPO. I advocate for an honest conversation: the authorities should clearly state whether they intend to invest taxpayers' money in the airline or not. But instead, they lie, pulling the wool over the residents' eyes, and I wouldn't be surprised if they secretly try to give money to the airline again," noted Deputy Tavars.
