Deputies may create another parliamentary investigative commission.
As previously reported, a parliamentary investigative commission has been established in the Saeima to investigate the reasons for the rising tariffs of the company "Rigas Siltums." However, the proximity of elections compels politicians to become even more active, especially in areas that are highly sought after by voters - for example, in the area of combating immigration. And now, deputies of the Saeima from the National Alliance are collecting signatures to create a new investigative commission - this time to counter the "invasion" of immigrants from third countries.
"A parliamentary commission will be established in the Saeima to investigate in order to limit immigration!
In Latvia, more than 105,000 residence permits have been issued to foreigners, but there are still those who are in our country with travel documents issued in the European Union and illegal immigrants. Each year, the ability of responsible services to control the growing number of such individuals becomes increasingly limited. Despite this, the Ministry of the Interior expects that in the coming years, the number of residence permits issued will continue to grow, which, in the context of low birth rates, will lead to the replacement of our people with others. It is necessary to change national and European rules to eradicate the loopholes through which immigrants from third countries are entering our country in large numbers. There is still time to prevent the negative side effects of mass immigration that have affected other European countries," stated National Alliance deputy Janis Dombrava on social media.
