Only an absolute minority of Latvians have a positive attitude towards political organizations.
Sociologist and statistician Janis Hermanis provided data from Eurostat (the EU Statistical Agency) on the level of trust in political parties. It should be noted that in Latvia there is a consistently high level of distrust towards parties. Currently, 81% of Latvians do not trust political parties!
However, this is not the worst result! A record was set at the peak of the COVID pandemic in 2020/2021, when 93% of Latvians did not trust political parties!
In the spring of 2025, 14% of respondents stated that they trust political parties. The lowest level of trust in parties in Latvia was recorded in 2015 and 2018, when only 5% of respondents expressed trust in parties!
