The presidium of the Saeima and the council of factions agreed on Thursday to start the winter session of 2026 on January 9 of next year and to establish that it will be closed on April 2, the LETA agency reported from the Saeima's press service.
In addition, the presidium and the council of factions agreed to start the spring session of next year on April 10 and close it on June 19.
The decision on this matter still needs to be made by the Saeima.
As reported, in September, the Saeima began its autumn session, which is planned to be completed on December 22.
The regulations of the Saeima provide for both regular and extraordinary sessions. There are three regular sessions in a year - autumn, winter, and spring. Between the Saeima sessions, an extraordinary session may be convened if necessary.
