Braže advised all OECD countries to reduce bureaucracy

All countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), including Latvia, need to reduce bureaucracy to stimulate entrepreneurship, investment in research and development, said Foreign Minister Baiba Braže during a meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann on Friday.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it is important for all OECD countries, including Latvia, to streamline governance and reduce bureaucracy. Braže welcomed the analysis and recommendations from OECD experts on the structural reforms necessary for economic growth.

Braže also informed Kormann about Latvia's achievements in the field of quantum technologies.

OECD Secretary-General Kormann is in Latvia at Braže's invitation and is participating in the "Techritory 2025: Digitisation & connectivity" forum. Kormann met with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, Minister of Education and Science Daiga Melbārde, Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze, officials from the Ministry of Smart Governance and Regional Development, as well as representatives from Riga Technical University and the company "Tilde."
