What is Remembered in the Church on June 23, 2026

Timothy was a very honest and kind man who believed in the Lord with all his heart. For this, he was chosen as the bishop of the city of Prusa (located in Bithynia, now part of Turkey). He had the gift of preaching and converted a vast number of pagans to Christianity.

This infuriated Emperor Julian the Apostate, who ordered him to be imprisoned. However, he continued to preach even there, among those who were in prison. Despite the emperor's order to remain silent, he did not listen to him. Then Julian ordered the saint to be beheaded. Later, his relics were transferred to Constantinople.
