The Sigulda municipality is searching for young people who interfered with the operation of the city's heating supply system and drained more than ten cubic meters of heat carrier during the night. Instead of just reprimands, the violators are also offered a chance to learn about the profession of thermal energy specialist.
The Sigulda municipality has called on young people who engaged in unauthorized actions at the city's heating supply facilities on the night of Friday to come forward.
According to the municipality, the incident occurred around one o'clock in the morning. Several young individuals gained access to the infrastructure facility and created a threat to both their own safety and the operation of the city's heating supply system.
As a result of the incident, more than ten cubic meters of heat carrier with a temperature exceeding 65 degrees was drained from the system.
The company "Adven Latvija" promptly dispatched its services to the site, which stopped the further leak and prevented more serious consequences.
The State Police has been informed of the incident.
At the same time, the municipality has chosen an unusual approach to the situation. Young people are encouraged to come forward on their own, and it is noted that such a step would demonstrate responsibility.
Furthermore, the municipality believes that the participants in the incident are likely interested in technology and its principles of operation. Therefore, they are invited to meet and discuss what happened, as well as to learn about opportunities for obtaining a profession in the field of thermal energy.
The municipality emphasizes that the industry needs new specialists interested in working with modern technologies and engineering infrastructure.
