The Prosecutor General's Office did not comment on the further scenarios regarding Antonov's fate considering the court proceedings in Lithuania, noting that the decision on extradition should be made by the authorities of Lithuania.
In mid-April, it was reported that the Prosecutor General's Office of Latvia decided to issue a European arrest warrant for Antonov.
The Riga District Court announced a break in the criminal case against Antonov and the former president of JSC 'Latvijas krājbanka', Ivars Priedītis, in April to await a decision on Antonov's extradition for trial and his possible participation in the proceedings.
The Prosecutor General's Office previously informed the agency that proposals from the court regarding the issuance of a European arrest warrant for Antonov had been received by the international cooperation department in relation to two criminal proceedings.
The court's proposals were deemed justified, and a decision was made to issue a European arrest warrant for each proposal.
It was also reported that after the French Supreme Court allowed the extradition of the convicted Vladimir Antonov to Lithuania, the former shareholder of the bankrupt 'Snoras' bank was delivered to Lithuania, the Prosecutor General's Office confirmed on Monday.
According to them, Antonov was handed over to Lithuania on May 22 - he was flown in last Friday around 10:00 PM and transferred to convoy officers who took him to the Vilnius detention center.
