Saeima deputy, reserve colonel of the National Armed Forces Igor Raev in the TV24 program "Stripes on World Security with Igor Raev" points out that the situation in energy could develop according to a very pessimistic scenario. In his assessment, potential problems are related not only to aviation fuel or disruptions in air traffic, which are already noticeable.
Raev emphasizes that complications may affect both everyday mobility and the heating season. This means that the lack of fuel for vehicles is not the only risk: the availability of fuel for winter could also become problematic. Such a situation would directly impact the daily lives of residents, the operation of businesses, and the overall resilience of the state.
According to Raev, it is precisely because of these risks that the international community is interested in finding a solution as soon as possible. The longer the crisis continues, the greater the likelihood that its consequences will become noticeable not only in the transport and aviation sectors but also in the heating supply for households and the economy in a broader sense.
His comment reflects concern over a situation where energy issues transition from a geopolitical or economic topic to a very practical everyday problem. If a quick solution is not found, society may have to face restrictions that will affect both mobility and preparations for winter.
