The modernization of the railway infrastructure on the Tukums line has been completed, and starting today, train services are gradually returning to their usual mode. During peak hours, trains between Riga and Dubulti will once again run every 15 minutes.

After several months of restrictions and repairs, passengers on the Tukums line can expect a more convenient schedule.

As reported by the company "Vivi", following the completion of the electrification network modernization carried out by "Latvijas dzelzceļš", trains on the Riga — Jurmala — Tukums route will start running more frequently again.

Starting today, the number of services will significantly increase, and on the Riga — Dubulti section, the intervals between trains during morning and evening hours will be reduced to 15 minutes.

For residents of Jurmala and the suburbs, this means a return to a more familiar rhythm of travel after a period of repairs and delays.

The summer schedule will come into effect on May 30. Then, trains between Riga and Dubulti will run every 15 minutes not only in the morning and evening but also in the middle of the day. Additionally, there will be extra services in the summer — seven on weekdays and another 13 on weekends.

In fact, the railway is preparing for the traditional summer increase in passenger traffic towards Jurmala.

"Vivi" also emphasizes that after the completion of the works, travel times will be faster. The journey time to Sloka, Kemeri, and Tukums will be reduced by about half an hour compared to the period of repair restrictions. Furthermore, trains will once again be able to use all tracks, and passengers will no longer have to search for temporary platforms.

Against the backdrop of rising fuel prices and road congestion, the railway is becoming an increasingly popular means of travel between Riga and the coast.

This is also confirmed by statistics: last year, "Vivi" transported over 21 million passengers — nearly 10% more than the previous year.

In the summer, the load on the route towards Jurmala traditionally becomes one of the highest in the country.
