The Riga City Council allocated nearly 1 million euros for the renovation of Gertrude Street.
The Committee on Financial and Administrative Affairs of the Riga City Council allocated nearly 1 million euros last week for the renovation of the section of Gertrude Street from Alexander Čaka Street to Skolas Street.
During the renovation, the road surface and sidewalks will be updated with consideration for the cultural and historical appearance of the street, measures will be introduced to enhance road safety, and raised pedestrian crossings will be built in the intersection areas.
The total amount for the surface upgrade will be 1.2 million euros, but 251.6 thousand euros will be allocated by the company "Rīgas ūdens," which will replace its utility networks on Gertrude Street.
Funds for the street renovation will be allocated from the investment program of the capital municipality.
